How to Setup IMAP in Outlook

There are many versions of Outlook, but we will be using the latest 2016 version. Most versions will be similar.

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Click Mail.

  3. Click Email Accounts.

  4. Click New.

  5. Select Manual setup.

  6. Click Next.
  7. Select IMAP.

  8. Click Next.
  9. Fill in all the blanks. In the fields INCOMING MAIL SERVER and OUTGOING MAIL SERVER, refer to your email to fill in the appropriate information here.

  10. Click More Settings.
  11. Type your information under General
  12. Click Outgoing Server Tab.
  13. Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication AND Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

  14. Click Advanced Tab.
  15. Type and Select settings as in graphic below

  16. Click OK. Dialog box closes.
  17. Click Next. A test will run.

  18. Click Close.
  19. Click Next.
  20. Click Finish.
