My Lady

She is my Lady, I am her Mister.

It is with a deeply, saddened heart that I write this. My wife died unexpectedly Friday morning at school. She was a Gifted 5th grade Teacher at Harns Marsh Elementary and passed out in the hallway. She was admitted to ER moments before I arrived and did not recover. It was not COVID related.

A Memorial will be celebrated at St. John XXIII Catholic Church 13060 Palomino Lane in Fort Myers on Saturday, September 11 at 1pm. For those not able to attend, you may view the live ceremony via a Zoom login that can be found at https://bit.ly/MrsMooresChessClub.

In lieu of flowers, we are starting Mrs. Moore’s Chess Club Foundation and donations can be given at the same link https://bit.ly/MrsMooresChessClub.

Later the same evening, 7:30 pm, we are going to gather at the community pool at 12591 Eagle Pointe Circle to honor her vision for our community. We will be lighting 124 floating candles, representing all of the homes in our community. All are welcome to come respectfully and join as we all celebrate the love that Virginia so freely gave.

When you see us out walking or speak with us on the phone, please refrain from asking how we are. Rather, help us spread the joy Virginia brought to us and mention how beautiful the breeze is, or what a great Tropical evening, or how beautiful Sydnie is.

We thank you for your love and support.
